Obama is the overwhelming favorite as the next President of the United States of America, not by voters of the United States of America, but by people in 22 countries not including the United States of America.
BBC World Service reported that in a poll taken in 22 countries on 22,500 people in several continents, B. Hussein Obama outpolled John McCain by a margin of 4 to 1 as the favored choice of U.S. President.
I suspect if a poll is taken in the Islamic countries the margin of victory would be much higher, like 90%+. They see and know that he is one of their own.
But even the BBC knows this is a kiss of death. That was what happened to John Kerry in 2004, when he said that he has to check with the UN before making major policy decisions . There is a reason for the rest of the world hoping that Obama is elected President, and I can tell you that it is not because of his prowness as a world-class statesman or any contribution he has made or will make to mankind. It is also not because of fondness of the American people or the American political system. BBC says:

The U.S. electorate tends to be largely hostile to outside influence, and from Reagan to Bush Jnr Republican candidates have reveled in a "country first" platform that rejects the notion that the United States has to be loved on the world stage or that its foreign policy should be subject to the dictats of supranational institutions such as the UN. As Obama has discovered to his cost, there is little domestic gain from wowing the crowds on foreign soil.
I propose that after Obama loses in November he be elected President of the Citizens of the World.
