Study: 11,000 gay weddings in California- more than MASS!

Rk

If we lose Prop 8, you will see Ca. being a magnet attracting MORE and more homosexuals here!

A new study shows that California has overtaken Massachusetts in the number of same-sex marriages performed.

The Williams Institute at UCLA said an estimated 11,000 same-sex couples had tied the knot in California between June 17 and Sept. 17 compared to around 10,000 in Massachusetts.

The Los Angeles Times said Tuesday that homosexuals have been allowed to marry since June when the state Supreme Court cleared the way for such unions. Massachusetts, on the other hand, has allowed gay weddings since 2004.

The study's authors estimated that a sizable number of the couples married in California came from other states to tourist destinations such as Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.

Obama’s High School Days: Ran With Bad Crowd

RK
What's good for the goose is good for the gander!
McCain camp need to hit Obama with a new issue/expose every other day, the public's level of doubt will mushroom! "O is TOO risky!"

As the media turns over every rock in the past of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, there has been shockingly little vetting of Barack Obama’s background.

Although candidates should not be judged solely by their behavior as adolescents, an examination of their overall past is fair and important, especially as we pick our next president. And former schoolmates can help provide character clues, such as the former Obama schoolmate who told Newsmax that she is surprised he is running for president.

“I remember he didn’t hang out with a group I thought was the right group to hang out with,” said the woman who attended Punahou High School in Honolulu with Obama. “It was the group known as the Bingham benches, the druggies’ group.”

Obama has admitted taking drugs in high school, but the fact that he kept company with others who were known to take drugs has not been reported previously. That appears to be part of a pattern of associating with questionable people, raising questions about his character and judgment. Among those people are William Ayers, who has admitted bombing buildings; convicted fundraiser Tony Rezko; and the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., whom Obama considered his mentor and who gave an award for lifetime achievement to Louis Farrakhan.

“I would say Obama didn’t show great character about choosing who he hung out with,” said the former schoolmate, who did not want to be quoted by name. “I think he behaved well and wasn’t getting into trouble, but he didn’t seem to hang out with the right people.”

The “druggie” group was called the Bingham benches because they tended to congregate around benches at a hall at the prep school named for the Rev. Hiram Bingham, the first Christian missionary in Hawaii.

“There were probably 15 or 20 in the group,” she said. “I hung out with theater people. He hung out with the Bingham benches, which were the ones that were more known as smoking dope.”

Obama, who graduated from Punahou in 1979, suggests in his book, “Dreams from My Father,” that he took marijuana and cocaine in part because of questions his race presented.

“I had learned not to care,” he wrote. “I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though.”

But the former schoolmate said that, because Hawaii has a multiethnic population, the whites — not blacks — were the ones who stood out as different at the private school.

Besides hanging out with the crowd who took drugs, Obama associated with athletes at the school, the former schoolmate said.

“He was very active in basketball,” she said. “But I kind of look at (the others) he hung out with.”

In contrast, Steve Case, who founded America Online, also attended the school then and was admired widely. “That was a kid, you’d say that guy could be president of the United States,” she said. “I was shocked to see that Obama would be a person running for president.”

Zogby Pollster: Don’t believe the Dem hype!

RK

Yeah, about time someone said this! Just when we need this

The presidential race is still too close to call and could come down to the very last weekend before voters decide if they like or distrust Barack Obama, a national pollster predicts.

“I don’t think Obama has closed the deal yet,” pollster John Zogby told the Herald yesterday.

Zogby’s latest poll, released yesterday in conjunction with C-Span and Reuters, shows Obama and John McCain in a statistical dead heat, with the Illinois Democrat up 48-45 percent.

Zogby said the race mirrors the 1980 election, when voters didn’t embrace Ronald Reagan over then-President Jimmy Carter until just days before the election.

“The Sunday before the election the dam burst,” Zogby said of the 1980 tilt. “That’s when voters determined they were comfortable with Reagan.”

Now voters are wrestling with two senators with opposite resumes - Obama, at 47, the unknown, and the established 72-year-old McCain.

Zogby said he’s still hearing from moderates and non-partisan voters - what he calls “the big middle” - who are still shopping for a candidate.

Palin: Obama not telling ‘total truth’

RK

Gov. Palin is doing the RIGHT thing, right strategy! Yes, using words like far left, out of mainstream, radical, etc. However, they MUST not dwell on Ayer, she need to say,"This is trip of iceberg, there are others like Rev. Wright, his mentor, Frank, who were just as radical..."

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin attacked Barack Obama Thursday for not being honest about his association with 1960s radical William Ayers.

“Barack Obama hasn’t told the American people the total truth about that, about his association with Ayers,” Palin said on conservative radio host Laura Ingraham’s show. “Doggonit, he fails to tell the American people with candor and with truthfulness what his associations are and we have to know.”

Palin blamed the media for not providing what she characterized as the same level of scrutiny to Obama that it has applied to her and running mate John McCain.

“I don't see the other ticket being asked to be truthful and give details,” Palin said.

“Some in the mainstream media are saying that, well, we’re taking the gloves off unfairly. No. You know there are only, what, 26 days to go. We gotta start getting answers to these questions that are paramount here so that voters have a choice in front of them that is based on truthfulness and candor. They deserve it.”

The Alaska governor told Ingraham’s listeners that if those questions were being answered, voters would find Obama “out of the mainstream,” adding that the Illinois senator would diminish “the prestige of the United States presidency.”

“What does it say when Barack Obama says he would sit down unconditionally with Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong Il and others, unconditionally, and I guess sort of hand over some of the prestige of the United States presidency and validate, I think validate, some of the positions that these dictators have taken,” Palin said.

“Barack Obama is so far out of mainstream America. And the policies I fear that he would support, that are so far left, that are maybe today in the campaign are packaged up to look real pretty and mainstream, they are not.”

Palin Dangles Red Meat To Heated Wisconsin Crowd!

RK

Well, that's REFRESHING & electrifying!
(MILWAUKEE) - John McCain and Sarah Palin were about halfway through a town hall meeting here when a man in the audience rose to be heard.

“I'm mad! I'm really mad!” he shouted. “And what's gonna surprise you, it's not the economy. It's the Socialists taking over our country.”

The crowd of several thousand erupted in thunderous cheers, as if many of their most underlying concerns had finally been verbalized.

The man’s righteous anger set the tone for Palin, who fully embraced her role as the Republican ticket’s attack dog. Palin seemed to question Barack Obama’s character repeatedly and slammed his judgment on hot-button issues like abortion, calling on voters to hold the mainstream media accountable for failing to challenge the Democrat’s truthfulness.

When an audience member lamented that Tom Brokaw “cleverly” did not bring up the issue of abortion at the last presidential debate, McCain reaffirmed his pro-life position but also extended an olive branch to those on the other side of the issue, saying, “We have to show compassion and courage to any young woman who is undergoing this very difficult situation.”

Palin was more direct in wielding the verbal hatchet against Obama.

“And I appreciate your reminder of the compassion needed in this issue,” she said. “What I don't find compassionate is Barack Obama's vote as an Illinois senator, when three times he had the chance to vote to be able to provide health care for a child who was born alive as a result of a botched abortion.”

74% of CEOs Believe Obama Would Be Disastrous for the Nation

This ought to be trumpeted across the nation!
If a recent poll found that almost 75 percent of America's top business leaders felt that a McCain presidency would be disastrous for the nation, with some even stating that his proposals if enacted would bankrupt the country in three years, do you think media would have reported it? Probably every hour on the hour until every American had heard about it, right? Well, on Wednesday, with the nation in the middle of what is being regularly portrayed as the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, Chief Executive magazine released its survey of 751 CEOs finding that 74 percent...

Anchor Calls Palin “Dangerously Uninformed”

RK

Katie: Frankly, I have lost all respect for MSM, that I rarely ever watch you or three network, or CNN or read New York Times, yet I bet you I am more informed than you!

CBS News anchor, Katie Couric characterized Republican vice-presidential nominee, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as “dangerously uninformed and naïve.” “She doesn’t watch my show or any other major network news program,” Couric complained. “She doesn’t read the New York Times, Washington Post or any other respected daily newspaper. Her sources for news are something called the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, the local Wasilla TV station KTUU, and, get this, some blog called Free Republic. Do the American voters want someone this far outside of the mainstream to be a heartbeat from becoming president?”

Proof that Obama was member of socialist New Party & won seat on their endorsement

I have spent much time researching this, and this is the best summary & time line I have on his involvement

This should be HUGE news, but don't expect the media to pick up. This might be too HOT for the weak-spined McCaign campaign.

Obama, in his 1995 autobiography, “Dreams From My Father”, talked about his grandfather introduced him to a Frank, turn out he is Frank Marshall Davis, who has been publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). Frank mentored him & guided him to his career choice.

Wall St. Journal: the lost years, 9-11-08 article

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122108881386721289.html

In his book, Obama reveals that during his student years at New York’s Columbia University he “went to socialist conferences at Cooper Union and African cultural fairs in Brooklyn.”

Obama was an active participant in the 1990s, and a direct political beneficiary, of the Chicago New Party and, importantly, the Chicago DSA, a group of socialists, writes Matthew Weaver of NoQuarterUSA.com

Democratic Socialists of America (hereon DSA) - Describing itself as “the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International,” the DSA is the largest socialist organization in the US. Weatherman Underground splintered of from SDA.

In 1995 Obama sought the New Party’s endorsement for his 1996 state senate race. He secured its endorsement, even used a number of NP volunteers as campaign workers. Obama expressed his gratitude for their support.at membership meeting on 4-11-1996..

The "New Party" claimed Barack Obama was a card carrying member in a 1996 newsletter found on internet archive.

Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.—New Ground

1996, Obama attended several meetings of DSA , according to its Newsletter , New Ground 45, March-April , 96.

http://www.israelated.com/node/53876,

It said that Obama “ talked the talk and walked the walk”

When Obama ran for the Illinois State Senate in 1996 he did so with the blessings of the socialist/leftist New Party and Chicago DSA. (The New Party rigorously evaluated its candidate endorsements and claimed “a winning ratio of 77 of 110 elections.” This was no passive endorsement.

Barack Obama is not just an extreme Liberal. He is a Socialist who signed their contract and campaigned on their ticket.

This link is proof as it lists Obama as one of New Party candidates it supported and won!

http://web.archive.org/web/19970709042254/www.newparty.org/elecsuc.html

The fact is that as recently as 1996 Senator Obama was an active member of the Chicago Democratic Socialist Party.

Obama has a long-term and sustained relationship with the Chicago DSA, an affiliate of the Democratic Socialists of America, and with the Chicago New Party.

New Party - Co-founded in 1992, the New Party was a Marxist political coalition whose objective was to endorse and elect leftist public officials — most are Democrats. The New Party’s short-term goal was to steer the Democratic Party leftward, thereby setting the stage for the eventual rise of a new Marxist third party.

Frank Chapman, a Communist supporter of CPUSA, has written a letter to the party newspaper hailing the Illinois senator’s victory in the Iowa caucuses.

“Obama’s victory was more than a progressive move; it was a dialectical leap ushering in a qualitatively new era of struggle,” Chapman wrote. “Marx once compared revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface. This is the old revolutionary ‘mole,’ not only showing his traces on the surface but also breaking through.”

New Poll Shows Prop 8- Traditional Marriage in the Lead here!

October 7 -- Yes on 8 is leading the race, 47% Yes to 42% No, with 10% undecided, according to a new CBS 5 (San Francisco) poll. That is up 3% for Yes and down 7% for No since September 25th - a total of a 10% gain for Yes. On September 25th, CBS 5's poll showed the race at 44% Yes to 49% No, with 7% undecided. Yes on 8 is attributing the gain to their first television ad, which was released last week, and to their massive door to door campaign.

The ad features footage of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom arrogantly speaking of gay marriage, declaring to Californians, "The door's wide open now. It's gonna happen, whether you like it or not!" The ad goes on to remind voters that gay marriage was imposed on California by a narrowly divided California Supreme Court overturning the vote of over 4 million Californians who overwhelmingly passed Proposition 22.

Town Meeting a SHAM!

RK

Perhaps the biggest exaggeration of the night came from the debate organizers, who called the format a "town meeting." Of the 21 questions asked during the 90-minute debate, nine came from moderator Tom Brokaw, eight from the live audience in the hall and four from Internet users.

The toughest, most important questions were not even asked!

Very disappointing.

Soldiers with automatic weapons detain author of 'Obama Nation'

WND senior staff reporter Jerome Corsi yesterday was refused permission to hold a scheduled news conference about his investigation into Barack Obama's Kenyan links by Kenyan immigration officials and soldiers armed with automatic weapons who then took him to his departure flight and made it clear he was not welcome to return.

"Don't ever come back. See you in hell," Corsi reported an unidentified official told him as the author of the No. 1 best-selling book "The Obama Nation" was delivered to a flight departing from Nairobi for London.

Corsi is now in London, where he will file a WND story on his discoveries in Kenya and recount yesterday's ordeal in radio and TV interviews, including the Fox News Channel's Hannity and Colmes.

ABC, NBC and CBS refuses to run ads on Obama book

RK

Major broadcast networks ABC, NBC and CBS have decided to help Barack Obama hide his real agenda by refusing to accept advertisements for "The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American Values," claims the new book's author, media expert Brad O'Leary.

These same networks, as well as Time-Warner, CW and Fox, which also declined ads for the book, however, will be running ads for "W," the new Oliver Stone movie with a highly charged political agenda, O'Leary noted.

"There are two possibilities," said O'Leary, a veteran political consultant, radio talk host and TV producer. "Either the mainstream media are trying to completely shut out messages critical of Obama, or they are afraid of legal action."

Lawmaker's son indicted in Palin e-mail hacking

About time

Somebody asked the son to do this, rto embarress Palin, but didn't work

A federal grand jury has indicted the son of a Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker in connection with the hacking of the e-mail account of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

David Kernell, 20, of Knoxville, Tenn., the son of state Rep. Mike Kernell, was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge C. Clifford Shirley, according to a statement from the Justice Department.

David Kernell was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Knoxville for intentionally accessing without authorization the e-mail account of Palin, Alaska's governor, the Justice Department said.

Kernell, an economics major at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, faces a maximum of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and a three-year term of supervised release.

His father, a Memphis Democrat, is chairman of Tennessee's House Government Operations Committee. Mike Kernell has said he had nothing to do with the hacking incident.

McCain came out a bit stronger but no knock out punch

RK

These are my thoughts & notes I took, and did not have time to reorganize it.

Again I saw the whole debate. I thought McCain came across stronger & better than the first debate, but not strong enough. It's just not natural with him. Both of them did better the first half of debate. I want to be as objective as I can, I call it a tie, no CLEAR winner.
Stop counting on debates to win it for McCain, won't happen.
There is only one way the Republicans has left to win this, and I am not about to share it yet.
Even Gov. Palin's performance, on the attack, may not be enough.

We hear pretty much same old stuff on Foreign policy part, kind of boring.
McCain definitely better & quicker to rebut Obama's points than his first debate.
McCain have better eye contact with Obama than last debate.
Obama's closing statement was better than McCain
Moderator was bad, filtered out the Q's. The questions are weak, some waste of time.
McCain's best punch was when he pointed out Obama was #2 largest recipient of Fannie's money, that Democrats opposed reform, that Republicans warned & tried to pass bill.
Obama's strongest attacks was on giving tax breaks to richest, oil company, something McCain still don't have a good answer.

McCain pointed out Obama voted for tax increase 95 times, maybe a bit exaggerated in numbers & Obama did not have time to rebut.
McCain scored point talking about he's for nuclear plants, for drilling now...
MCain scored on challenging Obama to tell us what's the fine to small businesses if they don't provide health care to employees.
Mccain stated well,"No time for on the job training" What can Obama say in reply? Nothing. McCain failed to rebut Obama's charge on de-egulation.
Obama stuttered more than first debate, more nervous.
McCain fail to differentiate himself from Bush & his policy- sort of weak examples.
McCain scored a point by pointing to Obama's pork barrel spending, including million dollar projector.
McCain did right by reminding voters Obama is most liberal Senator, & Obama COULD NOT rebut this fact.
Overall, got to be honest, I am listening to two weak candidates, one much worse than other.
McCain still afraid to go after Obama on his radical friends.
This debate probably will not sway the election much, maybe by one point.

The nose of Obama keep growing looooonger!

CNN: Obama’s lying about William Ayers

October 7, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

You’ll want to double-check the logo at the bottom left corner during this report. It really is CNN and Anderson Cooper fact-checking Barack Obama’s claims to have barely known William Ayers — and calling it dishonest. Stanley Kurtz even gets to make an appearance on a network other than Fox for this report

Drew Griffin runs down most of the salient points raised by people like Kurtz, David Freddoso, Jerome Corsi, and others. Obama’s admission in a debate that he briefly served on “a board” with Ayers with little contact gets shot down. CNN followed up on Kurtz’ work with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and debunks that notion. They also — amazingly — report on the nature of the grants made by the CAC while Obama ran it to Ayers’ favored schools with radical agendas.

Griffin also tells a somewhat nonplussed Cooper that Obama has lied about his “coming out party” at the home of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in 1995. Obama has said that Alice Palmer arranged the fundraiser and the venue, but Griffin spoke to two people who attended the event, who claim Obama lied. Palmer had nothing to do with that event outside of being invited to it. Obama and Ayers planned the event themselves.

Obama has lied repeatedly about his relationship with the unrepentant domestic terrorist. He spent years working for Ayers, promoting Ayers’ causes. Even CNN won’t buy the Obama line any longer. Expect John McCain to raise this point tonight in the debate.

What McCain needs to talk about tonight at Debate

RK

The recession economy and the financial crunch are front and center. Folks are asking: Can I get a loan? Will I have a job? Can I keep my house? Unfortunately, Sen. McCain's message overemphasizes government spending cuts, almost to the exclusion of stimulative and expansive tax cuts. This just doesn't seem like the right time for a government spending freeze, at least to the exclusion of other pro-growth policy levers. Sounds like too much root canal. More like Bob Dole than Ronald Reagan.

That's why McCain needs to stress that tax hikes of any kind would be a total disaster during this economic emergency and that letting folks keep more of what they earn is a recovery prescription. He needs to emphasize the need for across-the-board tax cuts for individuals and businesses. Lower marginal tax rates will reward work, investment and risk-taking. They also will put money in people's pockets as they keep more of what they earn.

McCain can point to Paul Ryan's modified flat tax with two brackets of 15 percent and 25 percent. That would be a great message. This is an economic emergency, and it calls for strong medicine. This is not the time to take away tax cuts. It's a time to add them. And reducing marginal tax rates would add substantially to taxpayer benefits on a permanent basis with new incentive rewards.

McCain should next talk about a corporate tax cut from 35 percent to 25 percent as a means of boosting jobs and wages. He should note that study after study shows that roughly two-thirds of the benefit of a corporate tax cut goes to the workforce. A corporate tax cut also is pro-investment and will make this country more competitive. But the key point is that a lower corporate tax rate is a job-creator. McCain must explain that you can't have jobs without healthy businesses that are funded by investment.

That message gives McCain a fighting chance.

I think race will tighten- here's why?

RK

But October may see the end of Obama's surge: He's peaking too soon.
Once the Democrat is seen as the clear leader and likely winner, the spotlight will inevitably shift to him. And he may not benefit from the increased attention.
Obama didn't do well when he last emerged on top, in later Democratic primaries. The more it appeared that Hillary Clintonwould lose, the more voter concerns over Obama's relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright cost him state after state in the later primaries.

They will examine his tax proposals and spending plans, and question his close ties with shady, even violent characters
October usually full of surprises!

Obama's spokesman caught lying about writing favorable review for Ayers's book

RK

If this snowballs, it would make LIARS out of Obama!

Obama Spokesman Bill Burton denied Obama ever wrote a favorable review for Ayers’ 1997 book on the juvenile justice system, sarcastically titled "A Kind and Just Parent” in an interview with Fox News Company’s Megyn Kelly Tuesday.

“He did not write a blurb for his book,” Burton said. “He did not.”

Contrary to what Burton said, a December 1997 article from the Chicago Tribune contains a statement from Obama describing Ayers’ book as “A searing and timely account of the juvenile court system, and the courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair.”

The book plainly recognizes Ayers’ involvement in terrorist acts.

The Amazon.com description of Ayers’ book says “For five years, Ayers, a former member of the radical 1960s Weathermen organization, acted as a teacher and an observer in Chicago's Juvenile Court prison, the nations first and largest institution of juvenile justice….the court today epitomizes the confused and confusing way American justice deals with children…Ayers shows that we must overcome our preconceived notions of these children and learn to deal with the realities of their lives.”

McCain went Nuclear on Obama's role in mortgage crises

"Bad mortgages were being backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and it was only a matter of time before a contagion of unsustainable debt began to spread," McCain said during an event in Albuquerque, NM.

"This corruption was encouraged by Democrats in Congress, and abetted by Senator Obama."

McCain said he raised the alarm and called for tighter borrowing rules on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, which could have helped stem the crisis.

By comparison, he said, Obama was "silent" while congressional Democrats fought efforts to rein in the mortgage giants.

"As recently as September of last year, [Obama] said that subprime loans had been, quote, 'a good idea.' Well, Senator Obama, that 'good idea' has now plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression," McCain said.

Tonight's town hall debate offers McCain one of his last best chances to turn race around

RK

The debate's town hall format is McCain's favorite style of campaigning. He asked Obama to appear with him in a series of town hall debates this past summer, but Obama wouldn't take him up on the challenge.
I expect him to be more offensive, and agressive, doing better than first debate

Obama will have a tougher time this round.

There could be some weird people asking silly questions. Obama does not handle questions from voters as well, without a teleprompter.

Obama Earmarks Benefited Donors and Relatives, Group Says

(CNSNews.com) – As an Illinois state legislator, Sen. Barack Obama secured at least $300,000 to fund projects that benefited friends, relatives and contributors, according to a conservative government watchdog group.

Those projects included a botanical garden that was never built, a church with a controversial pastor and an organization headed by Michelle Obama’s cousin.

Judicial Watch, using the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, says it obtained information on earmarks doled out by Obama when he represented his Chicago district in the state Senate.

Obama obtained a $100,000 grant for a garden project in Englewood, Ill., which was initiated by campaign volunteer Kenny Smith, according to Judicial Watch. The “Englewood Botanical Garden” project was never built, however. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, “Today the garden site is a mess of weeds, chunks of concrete and garbage.”

State records show that $65,000 of the grant money obtained by Obama went directly to Smith’s wife Karen, Judicial Watch said.

Time to remind voters Obama was for driver's licence for illegal aliens!

One of the biggest complaints many have of McCain is his lack of stand on illegal immigration, but at least he does not go so far to support this!

10-7-08

One of the striking features of this election is how little has been done to dent Obama's fav/unfav. Obama's unfavorability barely cracks 35, and he benefits from a 20+ point spread on this measure....Lee Atwater famously proclaimed that any candidate with unfavorables over 40 was dead, and ever since every national candidate has been walking dead by this measure... until Obama.
Part of this has been because McCain has been so late to the game in seriously and systematically undermining Obama. Bush's first negative ad of the 2004 campaign was aired on March 15th. It was on July 31st that McCain landed his first punch with the "Celeb" ad.

If it's his inexperience, merely stating it won't cut it. You need to find real-time examples of his acting naive or inexperienced. There have been exactly two in this campaign: "without preconditions" and Wright. And those haven't been foregrounded by McCain nearly to the same extent Kerry's $87 billion remark was.
Obama is the kind of President you elect in a peaceful, self-indulgent time. McCain is who you elect when the house is burning down.

In a time of financial turmoil, McCain needs to drive home the point that now is not the time for conventional, irresponsible, and petty political promises, like a massive socialization of the health care industry or increasing funding for the alphabet soup of government agencies. Sorry, but this also means that tax cuts are probably off the table too -- as well as tax increases that would steal resources from the private economy when they're needed most. Explicitly, McCain should make the case that America can't afford another party-line President, and that he'd be a post-partisan leader who would steer us through a time of turmoil.]

The Keating attack is actually an opportunity to drive home McCain's sense of self-sacrifice. Though McCain was cleared of wrongdoing, he can make the point that this is what drove him to become a political reformer and a thorn in the side of his fellow Republicans. Told right, this story of redemption could break the dials tomorrow night. It also fits into the broader frame of service vs. selfishness. Obama thinks only about himself, and didn't change his ways when a greedy real estate developer sought to buy him off. McCain had an awakening when the same thing happened to him.

The Ayers stuff will be useful in solidifying the base and getting Obama's unfavorables to 40. But it's not a gamechanger.

I am realistic about the prospects for a sudden turnaround right now. The strength of the Obama campaign is that it can be summed up in one word: Change. This is the unifying lens through which they want you to see the world. It's been an unwavering constant of their campaign. Bush's unifying thought in 2004 was strength against our enemies. Can someone please explain to me the single word that describes the McCain campaign? Even if they came to one now, they'd be 19 months too late.

CNN's investigation of Obama-Ayer's relationship- worth watching

RK

Keep in mind that CNN is the most ardent apologist for Obama. I am a bit surprised at how far CNN for once is willing to go to "investigate " Obama's ties to Bill Ayers. Overall, though there was this woman who tried to whitewash & down play the relationship, it was a good coverage.
Worth watching & following the money trail.
They were definitely partners & CLOSE friends!

Obama has only 3-point national lead on McCain (Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll)

RK
There is sign the race is closer, as it usually takes several days after a debate to register its effect.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama has a narrow 3-point lead in the U.S. presidential race on Republican John McCain less than a month before the election, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Tuesday. Obama leads McCain among likely U.S. voters 48 percent to 45 percent in the national poll, which has a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points. Four percent of voters said they were still undecided.

Evidence contradicts the assertion that Obama was not involved in ACORN

RK

Besides being ACORN's attorney on many cases, Obama was asked to train its employees on how to talk to & get banks to agree to lend money to poor people who didn't have income to pay back the banks.

Stanley Kurtz (here SK) is a respected writer and researcher with the American Enterprise Institute.
Hugh Hewitt (HH) is a well-respected talk show host.

HH: Have those ties (between Obama & ACORN) been anywhere investigated in print?

SK: Well, I’ve talked about it in an article called Inside Obama’s ACORN. And by the way, this is really interesting, Hugh, the Obama stop the smears website has started putting out denials that he had anything to do with ACORN, which is just flatly false as far as I can tell, unless they’re going in for a kind of Clintonian what the meaning of is is when they say he never organized for them. And yeah, he was working for something called the Developing Communities Project, but we have a number of sources that say he did leadership training for ACORN. I don’t see how they can deny this. And also, he says that he didn’t work with ACORN when he worked on Project Vote, but we have sources that say he did. It’s really interesting. I haven’t had time to write about this, but I want to. He’s denying connections that we have some significant evidence for, and I think this makes it incumbent on the press to start asking him for a detailed discussion of this. But if you go to my article Inside Obama’s ACORN, go to the link with the Los Angeles Times article where it says that an ACORN leader asked him to train her personal staff, or this article you’ll have to subscribe to by a woman named Toni Fulks (sp), who is an ex-ACORN organizer that talks about his work on the leadership training for that group, or Hank De Zutter’s article for the Chicago Reader on his work for the leadership training, or his own statement to ACORN that ACORN was with him when he was doing his Project Vote. It all seems to contradict what Obama’s saying now on the Stop The Smears website. It’s quite striking.

CNN found Obama lying about association with terrorist Ayers

This is a REAL huge surprise! CNN is one of most blatant suporter & organ for the Obama camp.
This latest offensive by Palin could snowball into something that COULD potentially make the next momentum shift!

CNN Did A Major Ayers Investigation -- Proves Little Messiah A Big Liar
CNN | 10-06-08 | DHarry

October 06, 2008

On Anderson's Cooper 360 they did a major investigative look at the Ayers/Obama connection. They even interviewed Stanley Kurtz.

Bottom line: Just a guy in my neighborhood? Served on one board together?

CNN Says bulls**t!

They worked closely with each other and worked together on TWO boards -- both Annenberg and the Woods Foundation. They also talked about Ayers little tea party to launch Obama and found Obama hadn't been entirely honest about "just stopping by..." It was an event they planned and hosted TOGETHER.

Sarah Palin needs to come out tomorrow and ride this just like she did the New York Times piece: "It appears as though we've learned once again that Barack Obama wasn't exactly telling the truth about his association with the domestic terrorist William Ayers. As a matter of fact it was in a debate during the primary in which he lied. We know this because CNN reports...."

It's the lies that will sink Obama.

With Sarah Palin aboard, John McCain gets official nod of major evangelical leader Dobson

RK

McCain made a bad mistake of avoiding & refusing the help of leaders like Dobson. I know the Dobson staffs & he is a key mover in our circle, well respected. Only wish McCain will humble himself & make amends. When you are a weak candidate, you can't afford to lose a critical bloc of voters.

Amid a blizzard of disheartening polls a month out from the general election, the John McCain-Sarah Palin Republican ticket got some great news this afternoon: A clear go-ahead signal to millions of evangelicals across the country from Dr. James Dobson, founder and chairman of FocDr James Dobson founder and chairman of Focus on the Family who radio program and newsletters reach millions of evangelicals approves a vote for the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palinus on the Family, to vote for the GOP ticket. It couldn't have come at a better time.

CBS Poll: Presidential Race Tightens after VP debate

Oct. 6, 2008
(CBS) In a sign that the race for president has returned to about where it was before the first presidential debate, the Obama-Biden ticket leads the McCain-Palin ticket 47 percent to 43 percent among registered voters in a new CBS News poll. But the one to watch for is this , the Democratic ticket leads by 3 percentage points, 48 percent to 45 percent, among LIKELY voters.

The Obama-Biden ticket led by a wider margin, nine percentage points, in a CBS News poll released last Wednesday, before Joe Biden and Sarah Palin faced off in the vice presidential debate.
Roughly one in five registered voters have yet to commit to a candidate,

McCain calls Obama a liar

RK

10-6-08
- Republican John McCain is calling Democratic rival Barack Obama a liar.

The GOP presidential candidate told a campaign rally: "Sen. Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed."

In some of the harshest language yet, McCain said the campaign comes down to a simple question: Who is the real Barack Obama?

McCain drew the loudest cheers when he said the Democrat has written two memoirs but "he's not exactly an open book."

Trailing in the polls, McCain and his advisers say they will hammer that theme as the campaign heads toward the Nov. 4 election.

The group, Muslim Americans for Obama [MAFO], insists that all of its voter registration activity is non-partisan, despite the fact that its mission statement says it was launched in August 2008 "to provide a vehicle for Muslim-American supporters of Barack Obama to organize and mobilize our fellow citizens to get out the vote to elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States."

LA Times Won't Release Video of Obama Publically Praising Former PLO Operative & Jew Hater

Monday, October 06, 2008

Not only does Barack Obama's church of 20 years support Hamas and Hezbollah but Barack Obama also has a long close friendship and financial association with suspected former PLO operative and Israel hater Rashid Khalidi. Last night Sean Hannity dared to report Barack and Michelle Obama's radical associate and friend:

"My plan offers three times as much tax relief to the middle class as Senator McCain's."-the facts

Barack Obama on Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 in a TV ad

Are you middle class?

Half-True

Middle class. According to a recent study, more than half of Americans say that’s what they are.

More than a third of Americans with incomes below $20,000 describe themselves as middle class. So do a third of people with incomes above $150,000.

The government doesn't officially define the "middle class." But this much is certain: Since most people consider themselves middle class, politicians want their vote.

In a recent campaign ad focusing on economic issues, Sen. Barack Obama directly appealed to this important constituency.

"Instead of extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest — I’ll focus on you," Obama said. "My plan offers three times as much tax relief to the middle class as Senator McCain’s."

The claim refers to a report from the Tax Policy Center, which analyzed the tax plans of Sens. Obama and John McCain after interviews with their top economic advisers.

The analysts concluded that under Obama’s plan, people with incomes in the middle 20 percent would see their federal income tax burden go down by $1,118 in 2009. Under McCain’s plan, those same people would see their federal taxes cut by $325.

That’s more than "three times as much tax relief."

But a couple qualifiers are in order. First, those figures are for just one year of Obama's tax plan, 2009. If you look down the road, say at 2012, those in the middle quintile would see tax cuts of $2,197 under Obama’s plan; $1,441 under McCain’s. Not "three times as much."

Also consider that the middle 20 percent of incomes translates to people making between $37,595 and $66,354.

Suppose you consider yourself middle class, but you make between $66,354 and $111,645 (in the 60 to 80 percent quintile). Then Obama’s plan would translate to a tax cut of $1,264 in 2007, as opposed to a cut of $994 under McCain’s plan. Not "three times as much."

"Like all of these things, everyone is cherry-picking the facts," said Bob Williams of the Tax Policy Center.

Obama’s claim that his tax plan would result in three times as much tax relief for the middle class "is for one year (2009), not the whole lifespan of the tax plan," Williams said. "There’s so many things happening at different times in the plan."

The nonpartisan, business-backed Tax Foundation points out another caveat. The tables cited by the Obama campaign in the Tax Policy Center analysis don’t include the candidates’ health care plans.

The McCain camp has argued that some of his biggest proposed tax cuts for the middle class come through his idea to replace the income tax exclusion of employer-paid health insurance with a refundable income tax credit of $2,500 for individual coverage or $5,000 for family coverage.

Obama has a direct pay plan that would provide subsidies to help low- and middle-income families purchase insurance, as well as a mandate for health insurance coverage for children.

As both health plans are not part of the tax code, it’s probably not fair to include them in a head-to-head comparison of McCain’s and Obama’s tax plans.

But the Tax Policy Center did provide a preliminary report that concluded that under McCain’s health care plan, people with incomes in the middle 20 percent would see after-tax income increase by $1,559 in 2009. Under Obama’s health plan, those folks would see their income rise $269.

While it’s not fair to simply add the difference between those figures to the earlier analysis, "it’s probably safe to say that if you include McCain’s health care tax cuts, you do not get this three times greater figure" that Obama cited, said Gerald Prante, a senior economist with the Tax Foundation.

And then there’s the issue of defining the middle class. Is it the middle 20 percent? The middle 60 percent?

It’s certainly fair for Obama to pick the middle 20 percent. But picking, say, the middle 60 percent would yield much different results.

This much we can say for sure: A higher fraction of Obama’s tax cuts would go to the middle class than McCain’s. Perhaps the most stark contrast in tax distribution comes for those in the top quintile, people making more than $111,645. Under Obama’s plan, those folks, on average, would be paying $3,017 a year more in federal taxes in 2007, according to the Tax Policy Center analysis. Under McCains plan, they would be paying $6,498 less.

As for Obama’s claim that his plan offers "three times as much tax relief to the middle class as Senator McCain’s," it’s true for one year, and under one sensible definition of middle class. But since it’s not true when you look at the fourth year of the plan — and we are talking about electing a president for four years — we rate Obama’s claim Half True.

Keating 5? Obama Should See What Robert Bennett Said

By: SW

RK wrote that Obama plans to bring up the Keating 5 matter to attack McCain. Anne Coulter wrote the following, quoting the Democrat lawyer who investigated this matter and concluded that McCain was 100% honest in his dealing in the matter:

The Senate Ethics Committee lawyer who investigated McCain already had explained that scandal away -- repeatedly. It was celebrated lawyer Robert Bennett, most famous for defending a certain horny hick president a few years ago.In February this year, on Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes," Bennett said, for the eight billionth time:"First, I should tell your listeners I'm a registered Democrat, so I'm not on (McCain's) side of a lot of issues. But I investigated John McCain for a year and a half, at least, when I was special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee in the Keating Five. ... And if there is one thing I am absolutely confident of, it is John McCain is an honest man. I recommended to the Senate Ethics Committee that he be cut out of the case, that there was no evidence against him."

Obama To Hit McCain On Keating Five (Obama Gets Desperate!)

RK

Obama is so nervous about Palin's spotlight on his association with Terrorist, Ayer, something he knows could snowball into a huge liability 30 days before Election. Obama camp is very savvy.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Monday will launch a multimedia campaign to draw attention to the involvement of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the “Keating Five” savings-and-loan scandal of 1989-91
In 1991, the Senate Ethics Committee cleared McCain of corruption charges but cited him for “poor judgment” in meeting with federal regulators on behalf of Charles H. Keating Jr., a political patron who went to prison for fraud in connection with the collapse of the California-based Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which at the time was one of the biggest financial failures in the nation’s history.

100-Plus Former Ambassadors Endorse McCain

RK

Oct 5, 08

More than 100 former American ambassadors are endorsing John McCain and Sarah Palin for president and vice president.

To be announced by the McCain campaign later this week, the endorsements counter Barack Obama’s claims that McCain is inflexible when it comes to diplomacy and negotiations with other countries, Newsmax has learned.

Obama has specifically said that in contrast to McCain, he would sit down with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other world dictators to negotiate, without preconditions.

“Senator Obama does not have sufficient leadership experience, nor has he been tested in difficult times,” said Mark W. Erwin, a Democrat and former Hillary Clinton supporter who is a co-chairman of Former U.S. Ambassadors for McCain/Palin. Erwin was ambassador to the Republic of Mauritius.

Endorsing McCain are Howard Baker, who was ambassador to Japan; former President George H.W. Bush, who was ambassador to the United Nations; Frank C. Carlucci III, who was ambassador to Portugal; and Jim Nicholson, who was ambassador to the Vatican.

Others endorsing McCain are Bruce Gelb, former ambassador to Belgium; Margaret Heckler, who was ambassador to Ireland; John L. Loeb, Denmark; Ed Ney, Canada; and Julia Chang Bloch, Nepal.

McCain does not wish to criticize Obama's association with Rev. Wright, but Gov. Palin...

That's what I heard through the grapevine. But today Gov. Palin said,"To tell you the truth, Bill, I don't know why that association isn't discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and..."
Alright, Gov. Palin, let's kick more butts!
Rev. Wright was a closer friend to Obama than Ayers, she should speak up on the intimate relationship they had untill Obama was confronted why he would seek advice from such a racist bigots. Then he changed his tune completely , like a chameleon!

RNC to File FEC Complaint on Obama Fundraising Practices

RK

About time, should have acted sooner
Washingtonpost.com

By Matthew Mosk
A lawyer for the Republican National Committee today said the party will ask the Federal Election Commission to look into the source of thousands of small-dollar contributions to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.

The RNC is alleging that the Obama campaign was so hungry for donations it "looked the other way" as contributions piled up from suspicious, and possibly even illegal foreign donors.

"We believe that the American people should know first and foremost if foreign money is pouring into a presidential election," said RNC Chief Counsel Sean Cairncross.

Cairncross alleged there was mounting evidence of this, and cited a report in the current issue of Newsweek magazine that documents a handful of instances where donors made repeated small donations using fake names, such as "Good Will" and "Doodad Pro."

The Newsweek report says that earlier this year the Obama campaign returned $33,000 to two Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip who had bought T-shirts in bulk from the campaign's online store -- purchases that count as campaign contributions. The brothers had listed their address as "Ga.," which the campaign took to mean Georgia rather than Gaza.

"While no organization is completely protected from Internet fraud, we will continue to review our fundraising procedures," Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt told the magazine.

At the heart of the RNC complaint is a federal fundraising rule that lets campaigns accept donations under $200 without itemizing the names and addresses of the donors on its campaign finance reports. The rule was intended as a matter of practicality -- it did not seem reasonable to ask a campaign to gather that information from every five-dollar donor.

But the Obama campaign has raised more than $200 million this way, a staggering sum for donations that will not be subjected to outside scrutiny.

The TRUTH about William Ayers that Obama does not want you to know-best evidence

After researching this subject, I have put together a brief summary of the best evidence in a manner that’s easy to follow. Why is Barack Obama so comfortable around many radicals who hate America? Could it be they are also comfortable around him? The FBI on Oct. 3, 2008 is investigating another long-time friend of Obama, formerIllinois state senator, Sen. Walsh.

Sen. Obama’s false portrayal of terrorist William Ayers as just a guy in the neighborhood is not going to fly. Obama’s friend is America’s enemy. In spite of Obama’ campaign going ALL out to SUPPRESS overwhelming evidence, to intimidate radio stations from airing ads tying him to Ayer, Americans deserves to know the FULL truth..

The New York Times, selective in reporting all the things their sources told the paper, tried to whitewash this close association.

Fact: Ayers is a notorious terrorist, guilty of bombing the Pentagon in 1972. Charges were dropped only due to government surveillance violations. By his own admission, he is “guilty as sin,” but “free as a bird.”

He said (New York Times, 2001 )“I don’t regret setting bombs, sorry only that he and the others “didn’t do enough.” National Review Online’s Jonah Goldberg recounts his sentiments ,“Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents”

Fact: Weatherman was a revolutionary communist sect. Weatherman's founding document called for a "white fighting force" that would be "akin to the Red Guard in China" to work with the Black Liberation Movement to bring about a communist revolution and destroy "US imperialism." Weatherman committed at least 40 bombings.

Larry Grathwohl, an undercover FBI agent who infiltrated Weatherman, later testified that Ayers had identified Bernadine Dohrn as the person who bombed a San Francisco police station in February 1970, killing one officer. The agent also said that Ayers had built a bomb made from 13 sticks of dynamite that the group placed in a Detroit police officers' association building.

Since the 60’s, the Marxists did some self-criticism. They got smarter. Instead of bombs, they prefer the Ballot box. Dress them up in suits and instead of call for violence, call for CHANGE.

Ayer’s wife, Bernardine Dohrn, once on FBI's 10 Most Wanted List for inciting a riot and conspiracy. at the Weathermen “War Council” meeting in 1969, expressed jubilance over he barbaric Manson Family murders of the actress Sharon Tate!

Dohrn became a key planner in the founding of the Venceremos Brigades, an outfit which support Castro's Cuba,

Ayers and Dohrn were fugitives from justice for years, in hiding. When they emerged, both were welcomed into the ranks of academia, and became respectable professors!

Birds of the feather flock together. It was at the Chicago home of Ayers and Dohrn that Obama, a “community organizer,” had his political coming out party in 1995. Would you have chosen the home of a known bomber to host your fundraiser? Newspapers confirmed Ayres contributed to Obama in 2001.

Sen. Obama praised an anti-American book by Ayers.. Obama made a joint appearance with Ayers (1997 University of Chicago panel ) on the outrage of treating juvenile criminals as if they were criminals. This panel was orchestrated by Michelle Obama. Ayers was invited by the Obamas there. Ayers said, “A 13-year-old who picks up a gun isn’t suddenly an adult.”

Ayers and Obama teamed up for three years on the board of the Woods Fund

Why has Obama avoided talking about his primary executive experience, at Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) ? If it were you, wouldn’t you have put it down on your resume applying for job as Prez? Unless it could open a can of worms, when people probe into it.

Fact: He led the CAC- documents in the CAC archives make clear that Ayers and Obama were PARTNERS there. Ayers was one of a working group of five who assembled the initial board in 1994. Despite Democratic sources downplaying this, Obama would not have been appointed to the CAC chairman without Ayer’s approval!

The Daley documents show that Mr. Ayers sat as an ex-officio member of this board. He also served on the board's governance committee with Mr. Obama, and worked with him to craft CAC bylaws. Mr. Ayers made presentations to board meetings. They got to be close rather than casual friends!

The issue here isn't guilt by association; it's guilt by participation. As chairman, Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. For example, $175,000 went to former SDSer Mike Klonsky who until recently was also a blogger at Obama's official campaign website. Before reinventing himself as an educator, Klonsky founded an American Maoist communist group that worked with the Chinese communists. Among the extremist groups receiving funding from CAC were ACORN and Rev. Wright’s Trinity United Church. It fits like a jigsaw puzzle!

Fact: Ayer, referring to America, said ” It makes me want to puke.” Obviously hanging around many leftist extremists like Ayers did not make Obama want to puke.

This is no exaggeration or speculation, but established facts and events!

Ayers did not respond to e-mails and telephone calls requesting clarification of the relationship.(Washington Post: Fact checker). Why, if there’s nothing to it?

Fact: There can only be one conclusion- Obama is much more RADICAL and controversial than his repackaged image.

His AT THE LEAST Unquestionably Soft on crime, having terrible judgment

His true dangerous ideology may be HIDDEN from the public, with the help of the liberal biased media.

Ayer’s is just the tip of an iceberg. Google under,” Obama's leftist friends” & your eyes will be opened to a mountain of information.

We now have the names of 4 more Weatherman Underground terrorists who signed an online petition of Progressives for Obama, to support Obama's campaign.

Why would they endorse someone who allegedly had denounced their violence?

Vote NObama!

Obama To Preempt McCain Assault (Obama To Go HEAVY NEGATIVE!)

RK

Obama is smart & expect to be exposaed of his association with terrorist William Ayer, etc, so he wants to attack mcCain FIRST. Innoculate Americans against McCain's ads.

Obama officials call it political jujitsu – turning the attacks back on the attacker.

His campaign is going up Monday on national cable stations with a scathing ad saying: “Three quarters of a million jobs lost this year. Our financial system in turmoil. And John McCain? Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy. No wonder his campaign wants to change the subject.

“Turn the page on the financial crisis by launching dishonorable, dishonest ‘assaults’ against Barack Obama. Struggling families can't turn the page on this economy, and we can't afford another president who is this out of touch.”

Then Obama says: “I'm Barack Obama and I approved this message.”

Palin says Obama 'palling around' with terrorists- finally!

RK

I am so glad she finally is allowed to say what needed to be said! Yeah!
I have reasons to believe with remaining weeks, the McCainPalin camp will be on offensive mode, no time wasted.

10-40-08 ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday accused Democrat Barack Obama of "palling around with terrorists" because of his association with a former 1960s radical, stepping up the campaign's effort to portray Obama as unacceptable to American voters.

Palin's reference was to Bill Ayers, one of the founders of the group the Weather Underground. Its members took credit for bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol, during the tumultuous Vietnam War era four decades ago. Obama, who was a child when the group was active, served on a charity board with Ayers several years ago and has denounced his radical views and activities.

The Republican campaign, falling behind Obama in polls, plans to make attacks on Obama's character a centerpiece of presidential candidate John McCain's message with a month remaining before Election Day.

Palin told a group of donors at a private airport, "Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country." She also said, "This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America."

Palin, Alaska's governor, said that donors on a greeting line had encouraged her and McCain to get tougher on Obama. She said an aide then advised her, "Sarah, the gloves are off, the heels are on, go get to them."

The escalated effort to attack Obama's character dovetails with TV ads by outside groups questioning Obama's ties to Ayers, convicted former Obama fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko and Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Ayers is a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He and Obama live in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood and served together on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based charity that develops community groups to help the poor. Obama left the board in December 2002.

Obama was the first chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a school-reform group of which Ayers was a founder. Ayers also held a meet-the-candidate event at his home for Obama when Obama first ran for office in the mid-1990s.

Palin cited a New York Times story published Saturday that detailed Obama's relationship with Ayers. In an interview with CBS News earlier in the week, Palin didn't name any newspapers or magazines that had shaped her view of the world.

Obama and ’60s Bomber: A Look Into Crossed Paths

Published: October 3, 2008

CHICAGO — At a tumultuous meeting of anti-Vietnam War militants at the Chicago Coliseum in 1969, Bill Ayers helped found the radical Weathermen, launching a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and United States Capitol.

Todd Buchanan for The New York Times, 2001
Bill Ayers is now an education professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His wife, Bernardine Dohrn, teaches at Northwestern University

Twenty-six years later, at a lunchtime meeting about school reform in a Chicago skyscraper, Barack Obama met Mr. Ayers, by then an education professor. Their paths have crossed sporadically since then, at a coffee Mr. Ayers hosted for Mr. Obama’s first run for office, on the schools project and a charitable board, and in casual encounters as Hyde Park neighbors.

Their relationship has become a touchstone for opponents of Mr. Obama, the Democratic senator, in his bid for the presidency. Video clips on YouTube, including a new advertisement that was broadcast on Friday, juxtapose Mr. Obama’s face with the young Mr. Ayers or grainy shots of the bombings.

In a televised interview last spring, Senator John McCain, Mr. Obama’s Republican rival, asked, “How can you countenance someone who was engaged in bombings that could have or did kill innocent people?”

More recently, conservative critics who accuse Mr. Obama of a stealth radical agenda have asserted that he has misleadingly minimized his relationship with Mr. Ayers, whom the candidate has dismissed as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood” and “somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know.”

A review of records of the schools project and interviews with a dozen people who know both men, suggest that Mr. Obama, 47, has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers, 63. But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called “somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.”

Obama campaign aides said the Ayers relationship had been greatly exaggerated by opponents to smear the candidate.

In the stark presentation of a 30-second advertisement or a television clip, Mr. Obama’s connections with a man who once bombed buildings and who is unapologetic about it may seem puzzling. But in Chicago, Mr. Ayers has largely been rehabilitated.Federal riot and bombing conspiracy charges against him were dropped in 1974 because of illegal wiretaps and other prosecutorial misconduct, and he was welcomed back after years in hiding by his large and prominent family.

My comment:

I've had it! NY Times has lost all fairness, credibilioty, their circulation going down the toilet!

Fact: Obama’s political career was launched in the living room of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

If you know your "friend" has THAT criminal background, would you have judged him not a good place to hold your first fundraiser?

Ayers married Bernadine Dohrn.

Her famous quote is this:

“Dig it. First they killed the pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room as them. Then they even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach. Wild.”

Among the victims? 8-months-pregnant Sharon Tate.

What kind of man marries someone who praises the butchering of pregnant women?

Oh, that's right. It was only the Charles Manson murders she was talking about.

If McCain had associations with someone who had bombed abortion clinics, I wonder if the NY Times would have considered it a non- issue! It's the Times which has Whitewashed & rehabilitated Ayers!
Enough said!

The Times has rehabilitated Ayers!

Senator Kirk Watson who supoorts Obama cannot name one accomplishment of Obama- See it!

That's what our side has been saying all along. Obama has ZERO accomplishment in Senate. Outside the Senate, his biggest accomplishment is training thugs how to be" in your face" & beat down on Bankers, no kidding! It's a BIG JOKE! This will make part of a superb, effective for McCain.

Coming war of taxpayers versus non-taxpayers!

It's called class envy, class warfare, a tenet of communism, Marxism! So many voters are selfish gullible or idiotic.

Brad O'Leary, author of "The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American Values. in conjunction with Zogby America, conducted a series of carefully orchestrated polls. He wrote,"First, I found that 60 percent of likely voters among non-taxpaying Americans favor Obama for president, whereas only 31 percent favor John McCain. In addition, a majority of the 30 percent of Americans who don't pay federal income taxes agree with Obama's $65 billion plan to institute taxpayer-funded, universal health coverage. On the other side, a majority of the 70 percent of Americans who pay federal income taxes (i.e., the folks who would have to foot the bill for this boondoggle) are opposed to Obama's health care plan."

"[I]f Barack Obama and his legions of non-taxpaying supporters are allowed to set America's economic policies and priorities, a wrench will be thrown into the gears of our remarkable economic machine. America will face a new war. Call it Obama's 'war on success.' In this war, there will be no winners – only losers – taxpayers and non-taxpayers alike."

O'Leary's work found that 70 percent of Americans shoulder the majority of the federal budgetary burden for all Americans now, so Obama's claim for a plan to cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans is a logical impossibility.

"Is he going to give more money to non taxpayers?" O'Leary questioned. "You can't give a tax cut to 95 percent of Americans if only 70 percent of them pay federal income taxes in the first place. Then again, math may not be Obama's strong suit."

O'Leary, former president of the American Association of Political Consultants, is the author of 11 books, a former talk radio host with millions of listeners and the award-winning television producer of "Ronald Reagan: An American President."
